Vespa World Days 2009 - Zell am See (Austria)

The Salzburg region of Austria hosts the third edition of Vespa World Days from June 11 to 14, 2009. This time it’s the turn of Zell am See, a charming town set between high mountains (just a stone’s throw away is the Grossglockner, 2,370 meters high) and a beautiful lake, a setting that allows those present to take home some truly fantastic pictures. Representatives from Austria, Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Holland, Hungary, Italy, Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, San Marino, Serbia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the USA are participating.  The Vespa Village is located in the center of the Austrian town, and an exhibition of historic Vespas by the Piaggio Museum is being held inside. There are numerous stands of memorabilia, Vespa spare parts, clothing, and publishing. On Friday there is a trip to the Grossglockner for a route over 100 km long between round trips, and on Saturday there is a rally at the airfield before the gala dinner at the sports palace. About 2,000 people have registered.
